Infrastructure, electronics, and information rank above the airport and tourism sectors
The top 10 include utilities, professional services, electronic components, communications equipment, information services, scientific research, chemicals, and nonferrous metals. The list reflects both the materials industries of the Keiyo coastal area and information and professional work in northwestern Chiba and Makuhari.
Transportation and postal services are around ¥330,000, while accommodation and food services are about ¥225,000. Even though airport and tourism activities create large numbers of jobs, a small number of high-income roles such as pilots does not make the average for an entire industry rank near the top.
Narita, the Keiyo coast, and Makuhari each have a different wage structure
The Narita Airport area is centered on aviation and logistics, the Keiyo coast on steel, chemicals, and energy, and Makuhari New City on information services, professional services, and corporate offices.
