A comparison of wages at small companies with 10–99 employees in Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Gunma. This article looks at which northern Kanto prefecture maintains the strongest small-company wages despite the region's manufacturing-heavy economy.
Even within northern Kanto, wage levels differ considerably across Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Gunma. Across all ages, Tochigi ranks first at ¥355,400, followed by Ibaraki at ¥340,600 and Gunma at ¥326,600. This article compares wage curves by age and looks at how differences in manufacturing quality and concentration contribute to the gaps.
Using the Basic Survey on Wage Structure, this article explains scheduled monthly wages in Gunma by age and gender. Although the all-age average of ¥326,600 is the lowest among the seven Kanto prefectures, the article looks at the manufacturing economy centered on SUBARU in Ota and the different employment structures across Gunma.
